Professor Kavita Daiya
Professor Kavita Daiya is the Visiting NEH Chair in the Humanities, 2015-2016 and the author of Violent Belongings: Partition, Gender and National Culture in Postcolonial India (paperback), as well as the associate editor of South Asian Review. She is Associate Professor in the Department of English, and affiliated faculty in the Women’s Studies Program, the Asian Studies Program, the Sustainability Program, and the Global Women’s Institute at George Washington University in Washington DC. She teaches courses on global migration, gender, postcolonial literature, race and ethnic studies, and cinema studies.
