McCloskey is well known on GW’s campus for her popular creative non-fiction class, which is completely full this Spring. In the class, students have the opportunity to learn first-hand from an award-winning author and craft their own non-fiction pieces to be reviewed and edited.
Last fall McCloskey read to a packed room a section from her memoir Circles Around the Sun: In Search of a Lost Brother. As an audience member, I can attest to the effective blunt reality and craft with which she unravels the story of her brother who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
